Provenance: Jeannette van Zijdveld (1875-1958), landscape architecte and friend of Philippe Smit.

Notes: Philippe Smit must have seen Le Printemps by Millet in the Louvre Museum, which received it as a donation in 1887. Today, this painting can be seen in the musée d'Orsay, Paris, Inv. RF509 (fig. 1).
