Green patinated bronze on a marble base. Sculpture in good condition, base sl. worn: small chip to one corner, minor surface grime, name plate missing.
Provenance: Private collection; acquired directly from the artist, 1983. Notes: Dutch sculptor and painter Truus Menger was a leading resistance fighter and a heroine of the Second World War. Together with her comrade Hannie Schaft she was a member of the Council of Resistance (Raad van Verzet). In 1982 her monument of Hannie Schaft in Haarlem was unveiled by Princess Juliana.
