Signed 'Johan Dijkstra' (lower right) and inscribed 'épreuve d’artiste' (lower left); framed under passe-partout behind glass. Professionally cleaned and restored, three small scratches in the upper corners (incl. two with inpaint upper right).
Notes: Johan Dijkstra was one of the founders and most important painters of the artists expressionist association 'De Ploeg'. Aduard is a village in the Dutch province Groningen. The abbey, with its bell tower, is clearly recognisable in the right corner. Dijkstra, who lived and worked in Groningen, depicted its landscapes and villages many times.
