Signed and dated 'René Daniëls 1982' (lower left), titled (lower centre) and numbered (lower right), with printer's blindstamp (lower right), loose as issued, enclosed with title leaf (foxed), protective sheets and 9 other lithographs by Piet Dieleman, Jan Dierman, Theo van de Goor, Hans Könings, Leo Mennen, Mathieu Meyers, Kars Persoon, Teuni Tukker, and Henk Visch in the original cardboard portfolio (sl. worn), published by Geert Schriever on the occasion of the exhibition at Van Reekummuseum Apeldoorn and printed by Steendrukkerij Amsterdam. Very light yellowing to the upper and right edges (c. 1 mm wide), else lithograph in excellent condition. Hors Commerce copy aside the edition of 50. Portfolio complete. Herrings swimming in the sea biting each other is an allegory of the emerging artists from Brabant in the 1980s. A fisherman in a boat trying to catch the fish is Geert Schriever, publisher, curator of the group exhibition at Reekummuseum Apeldoorn and consignor of this lot.
